Are you ready?

I hope you are getting ready!?. Its "No Spend January".  Starting tomorrow.  Lots of bloggers are taking the challenge. Its great that so many are on the same wave length & supporting each other. We all have various reasons & various goals for doing this. Main one to improve finances.  It does have other benefits to like stepping down from the consumer treadmill.  Making use of what you already have. As well as making do. Appreciating what you already have.  Not being wasteful.
My main reason is that I want to
  • Not be overdrawn
  • Build up a buffer in my account
  • Get that Emergency fund.
  • To control money not let it control me
Of course I will not be able to do all of that in January!.  January is the start of how I will go on.  I am going to track every single penny.
Mr No Spend & I went to Asda the morning & had to do a food shop.  We could not get any meals out of  what we had left!. Especially as we had such a frugal christmas!.  I need to send a small parcel to Spain today & that will be my last spend.    Apart from getting some bits for packed lunches for my DS.

I wish everyone a great 2012 & thanks for all your support.  I hope your 2012 is filled with hopes & dreams & peace.
Happy new year x x x

  5. Yes, count me in, this is a good challenge, and it runs counter to our consumer society.
