At the moment I swing from feeling quite positive to then feeling sad about DD situation. I do not want to dwell on feeling depressed but I do feel that I am going through a time in my life where it has all got to me. I find myself feeling a bit weepy, negative & feeling tired & cannot be bothered. To feelings that I cannot cope with work. I am trying my best to not get sucked down.
I have found some good information on the net.

I have bought myself some dark chocolate & currently I have 4 small squares a day. It is said to boost serotonin. The funny thing with dark chocolate is that I can just eat 4 squares & thats it. I could not stand dark chocolate once upon a time!

At the moment I am listening to a Paul Mckenna cd each day. It is called "Control Stress".
I find it deeply relaxing. Hopefully it works in some way. But I enjoy the immediate effect of Ppaul Mckenna & his velvety voice!
My motto at the moment is "To take one day at a time". We all deal with things differently. Lots of different things over the last few years with DD have led me here. But I am trying to bounce back a little bit at a time. Its east to get into a negative cycle of thinking & thoughts. I hope & will get stronger.
On a positive note! sort of. As I have been lower in my mood I have not spent anything hardly!. Cant wait to the new year & get cracking with some goals.
Bye for now x x

Beautiful Day
Today I did lots of cleaning & housework cleaned my oven to!.
It was such a beautiful sunny day.Walked to my local Sainsburys as had run out of my sultana bran !. I also had some nectar points I needed to put on my nectar card as had saved my receipt to do that .Posted a friends christmas card while over that way to.
Yesterday went to meet up with friends over mulled wine & mince pies( I do not drink so I had tea).Walked there which was uphill & walked back. I am trying to do more. Its easy when you have been low for quite a while to let things slip. I have started having a daily walk of anything from half hour to an hour. I have eaten very healthily today. If anything I feel like I need slowly building up!. ( I dont mean with weight added ! taken away would be good!)
This week I am working 1 x 7 hour shift & next week 2 x 7 hour shifts. It suits me just fine this as & when required work, at this present moment in time. I get to work with some lovely staff . Everyone has there own trials & tribulations in there own lives. Just different sort of stuff going on.
I have a few little gifts to get for christmas for my sister & my mum. What do you do to relax?

How can I save money on a low income?I
Currently I do not have any savings/emergency fund. As a family Mr No Spend works full time. As you know I am doing the odd bit of casual work. In the new year I hope to look for something on a more permanent basis. Something that brings in regular money. I would have liked to have done more hours. I guess with everything that has happened I have not been in the best place emotionally to do that. Each day I treat as a new day.
I would like to feel more secure with our finances. I am very grateful we have a roof over our head. Mr No Spend & I need to make improvements to our financial situation.
I am thinking about ways in which I can aim to get to that £3000. emergency fund
I would like to feel more secure with our finances. I am very grateful we have a roof over our head. Mr No Spend & I need to make improvements to our financial situation.
- First thing being for us is that we both get out of using our overdraft facilities. It would be nice to form a buffer in our bank accounts. Who wants to be paying the bank anyone money for using this service?!
- To not spend more than we have coming in each month
- Get that emergency fund up & running. Currently it has £0.00 in the pot. My aim for 2012 is £3000.00. I would like to achieve that amount. I do not know if I will be able to. But I am going to set myself that goal.
- I would like to stick to a budget for food each month. To actually keep a proper tab on the food spending would be a good start. To make good wholesome food on a budget.
I am thinking about ways in which I can aim to get to that £3000. emergency fund
- Firstly I want a clear breakdown of everything I/we are paying out each month. Down to the last penny
- Search for better deals with regard to certain direct debits
- To not go over my mobile phone allowance
- To search for bulk buys/special offers of certain household items
- As far as spending goes ask myself "Do I need it?". Also look at things with regard to how many hours you need to work for that item?
- Stick to a food budget
- I like to do ebay & ebay is a way I can earn some extra pennies. Take for instance I bought a shirt at a jumble sale for 20p & it sold for £9.50 (not bad!)

I also received an award from http://sftandthe101challenge.blogspot.com/2011/12/day-244-creeping-nearer-to-mortgage.html#comment-form. A very inspirational blog who has a great goal in the midst & truely deserves it. So thank you.I feel very touched that people read my ramblings as I think my life has been a big blur lately. I was worrying that I was scaring people of with my blog ramblings !
I would like to pass this blog award on to
When DD came back in September she had been gone a year. Anyway I was glad she was home it made me feel like a normal mum again!. Anyway cut a long story short DD gets pocket money of her nan & grandad of £10.00 a week. The thing is even though DD is very challenging & not very nice to us at times. I still have instincts to protect her & also I feel sorry for her sometimes for the tangled web she weaves. Anyway back to the long story cut short. DD wanted a mobile phone . I got suckered in "What was I thinking of?". I went to phones4u & got completely suckered in. I feel so foolish. My daughter wanted a Blackberry torch. I will say I have never been suckered into such foolishness before. Basically I came out with the phone & an orange contract for £20.00 a month consisting of 1000 minutes, 3000 texts blackberry messenger etc. Thats bad enough but I signed up for a Jump contract & I am paying £21.99 for this. let me explain DD is the sort of girl who likes technology. This Jump contract allows you to change phones every 6 months if you wish. But hang on SUCKER ALERT . I started these contracts in September & found out today when making an enquiry wait for it. That if you have a new phone at the 6 month mark then your Jump contract resets itself to the 24 months again. So you keep going back to the beginning of your contract?!. I said to them on the phone that I was never told this which I was not. I thought over the 2 year contract DD may change her phone maybe twice & we would run the length of the 24 month contract. I explained to them I bought the phone on contract for DD so that it would take her through to age 16 with the option she could change the phone if she wanted to. I said to them that they may have well as advertised it as a lifetime contract . I feel like a right wally as this contract on these things runs till September 2013 combined it comes to £41.99 a month. I know it is a lot for a 14 year girl & in hind sight I wish I had never got the phone. I feel so silly . I pay it each month out of the pocket money her nanny & grandad giver her. I should never have got it for her. DD was keeping on & on . Also I think the fact that she had been gone a year i wanted to let her have it as a I wanted her to be safe. Its like someone else took the phone contract out . This is proving to be an expensive mistake especially this month as even though she is not living with us at home. DD has gone £25.00 over. I am going to start paying half of it & my mum is going to pay the other half. as between you & me my dad (DD grandad is not happy about the cost). I feel like such a fool I really do. I know they say you learn by your mistakes. How many things in my life do I have to learn by. Sometimes I feel everything i do is a mistake . Is there any part of my life that is hassle free.

I love sundays
I woke up this morning had a bath & hairwash. Dried my hair. Popped my pjs back on. They are so nice & fleecy its easier to stay warm in them. I never normally wear my pjs all day. I did lots of little jobs.
Wrapped my ebay parcels up- List some items on ebay some nice dresses
- Finish writing christmas cards
- Sort the christmas cards out that are being sent & the ones that I am hand delivering
Ironing
I also sorted out one of my drawers where I keep my hair driers, epilator & lotions & potions!. One of my challenges is to use all my lotions up. Not to buy any things till it is all used up. I am sure I will run out of shampoo first
I sorted the bathroom cabinet out. I use the tesco face scrub morning & night. I then tone using the rose & glycerine toner . Lastly I moisturize using the bodyshop seaweed moisturizer. I have a face peel masque, I use that twice a week. The body lotion has a hint of self tanner. Just to take the edge of my pale look away. I will use all these things first before going to my drawer & using that stuff.
My little christmas tree has been put up. We bought a 4ft potted one( must cover the blue bucket with something!). It was from Asda & cost £15.00. At the end of christmas we will plant it in garden. I made all the red gingham hearts last year using some Tesco red gingham tea towels!, some jute & a few buttons from my button pot. It looks very sweet twinkling in the evening.
I love this little reindeer!
Not forgetting Santa!
Lastly but not least I have joined Sft sealed pot challenge. This one was made out of a pringles tube with brown paper, few stickers & a lacy bit!. I have deposited my first two 20 pence pieces inside today. After today I am not going to keep track of what I drop in there. It will be just 20 pences though.
Go & join if you have not already. Sft had lots in her magerine tub at the end of the year.
Have a lovely weekend x x x

I am going to make these hopefully this weekend!
I saw these being made on Lorraine kellys morning show. They are a lighter version. I copied the recipe & pasted it here. Incase anyone wants to test it out!. I hope to this weekend! I watched that channel 4 programme but I did wonder how the lady got so many of the same vouchers. As most internet vouchers would only allow you to print one. I know supermarket magazines print a few inside that you can use instore. Also does that lady manage to do a shop with that amount of coupons each week?!. Or maybe that was a well planned coupon session for the show?!. I am not sure how managable it was to find that amount of savings. I know in America coupon clipping is quite a big thing with different supermarkets competing with each other. I hope it does catch on here! I know they have price wars etc ie sainsburys versus Asda shopping basket price comparison. But maybe a huge newspaper like a our local free Leader newspaper filled with coupons to clip. I wonder which supermarket will think of it first?!Lets hope someone does it please !!!
Sausage rolls you can have!
Published: 01/12/11
Christmas isn’t Christmas for me if I can’t have sausage rolls, so that not going to happen, this is my lighter version!
Makes 16 sausage
Ingredients:
For the filling:
For the pastry:
Method:
Heat the oven to 220 degrees Celsius/gas mark 7.
Make up the sage and onion stuffing with boiling water according to the packet instructions and then put into a bowl with the minced pork, grated carrot, and onion. Add the grated nutmeg, salt and pepper.
Mix this all together and then pop it in the fridge until it all firms up, this will really help when you make the rolls so try and make the time. A couple of hours should be enough.
Lightly flour your work surface and divide the sausage mixture into two. Now roll them out to 25cms in length. Put to one side.
Now you need to roll out the pastry to a 25cm square. Make sure you do this on a clean floured surface (if using the same surface as you rolled the sausage mix on, make sure you clean it properly first then allow it to dry.)
Cut the pastry into two rectangles. Lay one of your sausage mixture rolls along the edge of one of the pieces of pastry. Wrap the pastry over it then brush a little milk down the opposite long side. Roll the join underneath and seal.
Now slice into eight rolls. Pop on a baking tray, making sure you lay the sausage rolls so that the pastry join is on the bottom of the tray. Now repeat with the other half of the pastry and mix. Brush your two rolls with a bit more milk.
Bake for between 15-20 minutes until puffed up and golden and serve hot or cold.

Ingredients:
For the filling:
- 50g sage and onion stuffing mix (you can buy this readymade in the supermarket)
- 300g lean pork mince (buy the leanest you can find!)
- 1 grated carrot
- ½ small onion, grated
- Pinch of freshly grated nutmeg (you could use ground nutmeg if you can’t find fresh)
- Pinch of salt and pepper
For the pastry:
- 187g ready rolled puff pastry (you usually buy this in packs of 375g so just use half and freeze the other half for later!)
- 1 tbsp skimmed milk

Just a quick blog!
I have worked 2 shifts so far. One to go!. First shift really wore me out. I guess as I have not worked for a little while it was going to be hard!. It is true sometimes the less you do the more tired you feel. Whereas if you do more it wakes you up. I have been having a hot lunch before I go & taking a sandwich, fruit & yogurt . As it is very warm at work I have been drinking lots more water. have managed to stick to 3 cups of tea a day to. Very pleased that I have not been near any sweet stuff yay!. I will have a little something occasionally but I will not deprive myself like I did before. As otherwise I will end up eating more!.
I just wanted to say remember to watch the Penny Pinching programme on channel 4 tonight 8 0 clock. Details in link. I have set my box to tape it. Hope its good. I love hearing about peoples money saving ideas http://www.whatsontv.co.uk/todays-top-tv
Take care x x x
